Comments:Room 95 label text:PDF B597Chrysanthemum-shaped dish with ‘coffee’ glazeA decree issued by the Yongzheng emperor on the twenty-seventh day of the twelfth month of the eleventh year of his reign (corresponding to AD 1733), ordered年希堯Nian Xiyao to make twelve differently coloured chrysanthemum-shaped dishes. Between AD 1726 and 1735, Nian was superintendent of customs at Huai’an in Jiangsu and the man in charge of imperial ceramic production at Jingdezhen. Nian delivered forty pieces of each colour.
