Porcelain dish. Incised inside with dragon among clouds, reserved in buff-coloured biscuit against a greyish-tinged glaze ground. On the exterior, two similar dragons running dragons against the glazed ground. There is a mark on the base.

This was covered in a wax resist and the dish was then dipped in clear glaze and given a high-temperature firing. The iron in the porcelain body comes through in the biscuit-fired areas as an orange glow. The base carries a Zhengde reign mark.
