Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:This yellow is a low-temperature monochrome glaze, which was applied during a second firing of the porcelain cup over the transparent glaze. The shape of this deep cup, with its dramatically flared rim, was popular in the Jiajing era. Cups of this form are known with a range of decorative schemes, including underglaze blue.
