Description:
Porcelain stem cup with underglaze blue decoration. This stem cup has rounded sides, an everted rim and a high hollow spreading stem. Its decoration is quite unusual. Inside a six-character Xuande reign mark is painted within a double ring with lappets radiating around it like petals around the centre of a flower. In the cavetto are eight plum blossoms. Outside are a band of composite flower scroll with chrysanthemums and other plants and below a band of lappets with smaller lappets in between. Around the middle of the stem is a dense leaf scroll. The inner and outer rim, foot and join of stem to bowl are outlined with double blue lines. The stem is glazed inside.
