Description:
A pair of porcelain wine cups with underglaze blue and enamelled decoration. These cups are deep with a flat everted rim and a low tapering foot. Both are painted in underglaze blue inside with a roundel encircling plum blossom (BM 1947.0712.259A) and a curling ‘chi’ dragon (BM 1947.0712.259B). The outsides are enamelled, both with short poems, one with flowers, the other with a bird perched among similar flowers. Both the bases are unglazed. Although the poems are indecipherable, they are written in a calligraphic script in turquoise enamel with a black outline.
