Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:The wine cup was recovered from the Hatcher shipwreck, dating to 1643 (see BM 1984.0303.11a-b). Out of the 22,178 pieces from the cargo sold at Christie’s, Amsterdam, just 579 were ‘blanc de Chine’ wares, of which 439 were bowls in stacking sets of five. In addition to these 266 ‘blanc de Chine’ pieces were sold through Heirloom and Howard, about 83 of which were small wine cups and another 100 were boxes with ribbed sides and moulded floral patterns on the covers.
