Description:
This tall porcelain cup has sides which flare out at the rim and stands on a low foot ring. Inside it is painted with an iron-red fish in the centre and with three overglaze blue fish near the rim. Outside, it is covered with a monochrome iron-black mirror glaze with a gilded border beneath the rim showing flower heads on a cross-hatch ground. Traces of lions in gold are visible outside but most of the gilding has rubbed off and the base is covered with a transparent glaze.
