Comments:– Imitation coin or stone coin for the dead.– A cutting from a sales catalogue (unidentified, dated 2.4.28, in the Dept of Asia, BM) reads “Other Properties. 168: A pair of pottery Food Jars, circular, with tapering sides, each having two small Shitzu bosses on the shoulders; the bases carved with the character Chin (Dynasty 265-316 A.D.), 6 in. high; together with a quantity of slate Imitation Cash for the use of the departed spirits, from a grave in Shansi province. …. 2”
