Description:
Set of 21 white ceramic coffee-cups made from moulds. Each cup is decorated with a thin, plated silver-coloured band below the internal and external rim. Hand-painted with red leaf-motifs alternating with delicate transfer designs of green-petalled flowers with red stems. Maker’s mark and production place stamped in red on the bottom.

Comments:These types of coffee-cups were mass-produced in China, Korea and Japan for export to various parts of the Middle East. This specific cup design and pattern continues to be sold in Syria and Lebanon in 2011. Traditionally in the Levant, this type of coffee-cup would be placed inside a locally crafted silver or gold-plated metal cup with intricate filigree work on special occasions.
