Coffee-cup. Coat of arms of Mills, of Harscomb in Gloucestershire and Clapham in Surrey; “Ermine a millrind sable”, impaling Hatch of Clabery Hall, Essex – formerly Devon. “Gules, two demi lions passant gardand couped in pale or”; crest, “A lion rampant or”; inscribed with a motto. Made of enamelled porcelain. William Mills of Clapham, son of Giles Mills of London and Mary, daughter of Elliston Barrington of Chlemsford, married Elizabeth, daughter of James Hatch of Clabery Hall in Essex, and died in 1790 leaving a son, Thomas Mills of Saxham Hall in Suffolk, who was born in February 1749.Coat of arms of Mills and Hatch.
