Description:
A square cloth with patchwork made of small, equal sized squares (one brocade, some damask and some satin squares), worked on the diagonal. In the centre a large red ‘wan’ (swastika) motif, surrounded by tones of green (inner) and pink (outer). Framed by a 16 cms black border, made from satin silk cloth. Commercially made passementerie stitched to edge of patchwork. Cloth lined with two unequal sized pieces of orange silk damask cloth, faded at one corner. Small, square paper label at one corner: ’75’ (in black ink).
