Description:
Tapering conical “candle case”, candle mould, made of white metal. Design consists of a five clawed dragon chasing the flaming pearly of wisdom, cloud and wave patterns all in high relief. There is also a removable stopper that fits inside the widest end of the mould.

Comments:British and Medieval Dept. Register, v.6, p.244 “candle case”. Temporary Register (1861-1921), p.65. Attached card label “29b” in ink (previous collection number). The majority of this collection is in Oriental Department. (AMD,1996).
