Description:
This brush washer is moulded in the form of a ridged shell and stands on three small oval feet. Inside it is glazed turquoise with a coral-pink rim which is further decorated with gold spots. Outside it is painted with a slightly iridescent black glaze which pools along the ridges of the shell. Glazing the insides of pots turquoise was fashionable in the Qianlong era as were trompe l’oeil ceramics.
