Description:
‘Blanc de Chine’ porcelain box with moulded decoration and traces of glaze. This round box is mould-made with relief decoration of a rock and peony on the lid encircled by a double raised band; the edges of the cover and tray are fluted. The monochrome white glaze has been much eroded by the sea and now has a dull grey cast. The base is flat and unglazed. Inside the tray is glazed but the cover is not glazed.
