Description:
Porcelain bowl with underglaze blue decoration. This small bowl has rounded sides and an out-turned rim and stands on a straight foot ring. Outside it is decorated in a rich violet-blue cobalt with a man seated on a rock beneath a pine tree, watching a boy fly a butterfly-shaped kite in a landscape. Night is indicated by the full moon and stellar constellations in the sky. Inside it is plain and the base is marked with a poorly written apocryphal Xuande reign mark in a single ring.
