Description:
Porcelain bowl with liner decorated in overglaze red, green, yellow, turquoise and black enamels. This bowl has rounded sides, a tapering foot, a hole in the centre of the base and a shallow liner. It is painted in overglaze red, green, yellow, turquoise and black enamels. There is a much-worn figural scene inside in a central roundel and four panels of flowers on a stippled green ground surrounded by red enamel in the cavetto. The outside shows four large red roundels interspersed with elaborate beaded pendants comprising tassels, ‘ruyi’ heads, conch shells and chains. On the base, arranged around the central opening like that of a Chinese coin, is a four-character mark which reads ‘Chang ming fu gui’ [Long life, riches and honour].
