Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:The leaves and scroll work of the lotus are most unusual. Normally the stems are shown as thin undulating lines, whereas these are thick and blunt and here the leaves have taken on an almost flame-like quality.A similar bowl made of higher-quality porcelain with traditional leaves was unearthed in the Wanli emperor’s tomb together with its gold cover and a gold bowl stand. Another bowl of lower quality was excavated from Xiang Yuanbian’s (1525-91) family tombs outside Jiaxing city Zhejiang province.
