Description:
These small porcelain bowls flare out slightly at the rim and stand on foot rings. Outside they are covered with a monochrome café au lait glaze which Franks describes as “nankin yellow”. Inside they are decorated with a flower and four leaves in the centre and with four rocks with different flowers in the cavetto: prunus, ?, peony and poppy in green and black enamel with iron-red and some overglaze blue used sparingly for the centre of a flower or bud. The rim has a band of green key fret outlined in iron-red and the base carries an underglaze blue four-character seal mark which is illegible.
