This picture is similar to the composition of one section of the long volume “The Eighteen Scholars Painting” of Liu Songnian in the Song Dynasty, which is collected by our institute. It is made by extracting the activities of different characters, furniture furnishings, and garden scenes. The theme should be a literary association rather than a book survey. There are many kinds of furniture and utensils in the courtyard, including long tables, square tables, square stools, ring piers, back armchairs, zither, books, wine vessels, incense burners, etc. This picture should be a copy of the middle and late Ming Dynasty. The painter has a lot of descriptions of the shape of the objects, but his figure drawing method is somewhat rigid.
