Description:
Two porcelain bowls with pierced lattice-work panels and underglaze blue decoration. These two octagonal bowls have pierced lattice-work panels and underglaze blue decoration. Openwork patterns are created in opposite pairs and are surrounded by blue frames with a border of ‘ruyi’ heads below and a wave band above with white flower heads and crests of waves. Inside the bowls are plain and the bases are unglazed.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:These bowls were part of a group of thirty similar octagonal reticulated bowls recovered from the Hatcher wreck, dating to c. 1643 (see BM 1984.0303.11a and b).
