Description:
Porcelain bowl with underglaze blue decoration. This blue-and-white ‘min yao’ porcelain bowl is decorated on the outside with two scenes of a horse and rider attended by a servant and by men fishing from a ‘sanpan’ separated by stylized landscapes. A figure in a landscape setting is depicted on the inside. The everted rim is further decorated with double lines. Its glaze has corroded through burial.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:This bowl, according to the Museum’s records, is said to have been found in a late Ming tomb near Chengdu in Sichuan province, but no other details are recorded.
