Description:
Porcelain bowl with underglaze blue decoration. This ‘min yao’ bowl has lobed sides and a flared rim with bracket-lobed edge and a tapering foot. Inside it is painted with a roundel of lingzhi and lilies. Simple five-petalled flowers are painted on the rim separated by an undulating leaf scroll. Outside two dragons are depicted with front legs and a scrolling body and tail on a scroll work ground. On the gritty base, within a double circle, is an apocryphal four-character Xuande mark.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:This dish dates to the Zhengde to early Jiajing period. Its decoration is loosely based on the Zhengde period imperial porcelains, such as BM Franks.303+ and BM 1984.0202.8.
