Description:
This small high-quality porcelain bowl is delicately potted with flaring sides. It is painted in iron-red inside with a central medallion of pine, prunus and ‘Buddha’s hand’ or citron (an inedible but fragrant citrus fruit), surrounded by a band of trefoil pattern repeated in the inner and outer rim and around the foot ring. Outside is a poem written by the Qianlong emperor which terminates with an oval seal containing the character 乾Qian and a square seal with the charater 隆long. The base bears a six-character Qianlong seal mark.
