Hemispherical porcelain bowl. Decorated in doucai style with underglaze blue washes and outlines and overglaze enamels. Inside, a figure of Shou lao (God of Longevity), seated with his crane, enclosed in double blue ring. Eight Immortals around the exterior. There is a mark on the base.

The Eight Immortals are a combination of male and female historical and legendary figures, each identified by different costume and attributes. For example Zhong Liquan is recognised by his top knots and fan, and Li Tieguai has a ‘grotesque’ face, walks with a crutch and carries a gourd.
