Description:
Porcelain bowl with underglaze blue decoration. This ‘min yao’ porcelain bowl has rounded sides and an everted rim. It is decorated on the outside with four men on horseback interspersed with stylized clouds and rock and pine motifs. The inside shows an immortal riding on a stylized fish contained within a double ring, The flat everted rim and foot are decorated with cobalt blue double outlines. The base is glazed.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Such bowls were used domestically in China and were exported to countries in South-east Asia. A similarly decorated bowl is in a private South-east Asian collection and another example is in the Hong Kong Bank of Canada Collection.
