Description:
Two porcelain bowls with underglaze blue decoration. These finely potted bowls have rounded sides which flare outwards towards the rim and a splayed foot. Beneath a blue-tinged glaze they are delicately painted in very pale blue tones of local cobalt with fine outlines, showing a wave in a medallion inside and a squirrel in grape vine motifs outside (see BM 1936.1012.238). The base has a six-character Xuande reign mark in a double ring.
