Description:
Porcelain bowl with ‘kraak’-type underglaze blue decoration. This finely potted bowl has high lobed sides, a flattened rim with upturned lobed edge and a high tapering foot. Inside is a crow perched on a rock, surrounded by radiating paired panels showing camellias, hollyhocks and peaches, all bordered by narrow panels with tassels. Outside a similar arrangement of panels bordered by tassels contains a double gourd, chrysanthemum, geometric lappet, rectangular box, tasselled knot, geometric lappet and knot.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:Franks notes that a similar bowl, then in the National Museum at Munich, was said to have belonged to William V, Duke of Bavaria (1579-97).
