Comments:Bencharong, meaning “five colours”, was the name given to this type of porcelain enamelled with three to eight colours. This example is particularly coarse and may even be a local copy of the Chinese ware. Knob of the lid is probably a repair. Also, unusually, the inside of the lid has been repaired as it is not open up into the knob.
