Description:
Porcelain bowl. Underglaze blue with five roundels featuring cranes or deer in a terraced garden around the sides beneath a narrow band of auspicious emblems and fruit sprays. Stylised petal panels above foot. Central roundel inside with white hare on patterned blue ground. There is an inscription on the base.

There is a white hare inside. The base carries an underglaze blue inscription which reads 萬福 攸同 (wanfu you tong ‘may endless blessings last all your life’). The organisation of production at Jingdezhen changed radically during the Jiajing to Wanli (AD 1522–1620) era. Potters used less refined clay as supplies from the principal source in 馬鞍山 (Ma’an shan) in north western Jiangxi declined.
