Description:
Large porcelain bowl with underglaze blue decoration. This large bowl has rounded sides and a high tapering foot. It is painted under the glaze in purplish-blue. Inside is a peony scroll in a double circle with an inner rim border of parallel lines. Outside it is decorated with six roundels encircling prancing magical sea horses and around the rim is a border of flower scroll and lappets below. On the base is a square seal mark with four characters, 富 贵 佳 器 ‘Fu gui jia qi’ [Fine vessel for the rich and honourable].
