Porcelain bowl with deep rounded sides and everted rim. There are incised five-clawed dragon in green enamel on glazed white ground on the interior, and two similar dragons against a background of incised waves on the exterior on a background of incised waves. There is a mark on the base.

This was covered in a wax resist and the dish was then dipped in clear glaze and given a high-temperature firing. The bowl was then painted with green enamel on the biscuit areas but also over the clear glaze for details such as the dragons’ whiskers and flames. The base carries a six-character underglaze cobalt-blue Zhengde reign mark.
