Description:
Double-gourd-shaped porcelain bottle decorated in overglaze red, green and yellow enamels. This double-gourd bottle has a narrow neck and a recessed unglazed base. It is painted over a crackled white glaze with tree-peony branches and with additional parrots in the lower bulb. Around the waist is a double band of lotus petals with a broad red strip in between. Encircling the mouth is a key-fret band.

Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:A double-gourd bottle of the same proportions but decorated in underglaze blue and dating to the Chongzhen period is in the Asian Art Museum, San Francisco.
