Description:
These two porcelain bottles have rings around the neck and stand on splayed foot rings. They are both decorated in spiralling bands of coral-red edged with iron-red and have four gold chrysanthemum flower heads outlined in iron-red around the neck ring. Ceramics in trompe l’oeil styles were extremely popular in the 18th century in China. These bottles were made to imitate blown Venetian glass.
