Description:
A pair of man’s boots; knee-length. Rope (bast fibre) sole; square end toe. Foot and leg made from a patchwork of maroon, red, green and blue woven wool cloths (twill and tabby weaves). Vent at middle back top, edged with blue twill cotton cloth. Top edge of boot raw. Many small holes – evidence of former insect damage – revealing natural cream tabby hemp (?) cloth underneath.
