Comments:Shang dynasty. CONDITION REPORT:19th March 2008 from Christie’s: Colour in illustration slightly too yellowish in tone -colour is a soft moss green. There is a small restored chip next to a bruise on the edge near the tip. These are visible in left-hand view of blade in catalogue. There has most likely been some repolishing at this end on the less altered side. There are a few minute chips elsewhere on the edges. Blade is in overall good condition, has satiny polish and the blade is very well carved.
