Comments:Corrigan notes that the Geija people are considered by the Han people to be Miao, but they consider themselves to be a separate minority group called Geija. They live in an area west of Kaili to Chongan town and along the Conganjiang river.Text from Corrigan 2001: 74: kaili city area, qiandongnan prefecture. Baby-Carrier (Gejia Group). T-shape baby-carrier with attached bands that pass across the chest, round the waist and under the child’s bottom and are tied at the front. Indigo-dyed cotton, predominantly embroidered in a chain stitch filled with satin stitch, worked with a twisted thread. The tying bands are decorated with what may be a paste-resist design, of birds and flowers.
