Comments:This bi-shaped knot picker has two triangular extensions, another hooked extension and a long curved and tapering “tail” extension terminating in a sharp point. Eastern Zhou. See Rawson 1995, p.289, cat.no.20:5. The small hook on the side resembles the books on thumb rings and suggests that, at the very least, some features of the thumb ring were transferred to such pointed pendants. This example consists of a disc with four projections: one, the hook already mentioned, two triangular points, and one very long and slightly curved tail with a notch in it. The long point relates this pendant to the type sometimes known as xi. Whilst pointed pendants are common in all types of sets in the Han period, they seem in particular to have accompanied shield-shaped pendants based upon the thumb ring.
