Comments:Harrison-Hall 2001:The glaze is much more glassy than on Longquan wares made earlier in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, suggesting a later date. In support of this theory, the shape of the neck of the vase is similar to that of blue-and-white porcelain vases made at Jingdezhen in the ‘transitional’ period.A slightly larger vase, measuring 26.8 cm in height, with the same incised peony design around the belly but with an inscription around the neck, is in the Longquan Qingci Museum, Zhejiang province.
