Yellow glazed covered jar, Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty, with a height of 28.5cm, a caliber of 9.5cm, and a foot diameter of 11.3cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The jar has a straight mouth, a rounded neck, a rounded belly, gradually converging under the abdomen, and an outward curl near the foot. The outer wall of the tank and the inside of the ring foot are all painted with yellow glaze. On the neck, a five character inscription in regular script, “Sacrificial Instruments of the Kunning Palace”, is written in green material from right to left. The outsole is printed with six character double line funds in blue and white regular script, “Xuantong Year System of the Qing Dynasty”. This jar belongs to a sacrificial utensil used by the court. Among the old collections of the Qing Dynasty palace, there are a large number of ceramic utensils specially fired for sacrificial purposes. In the Qing Dynasty, there were two places where the imperial court often held sacrificial ceremonies. One was the Tangzi in the southeast of the imperial city, and the other was the Inner Court Kunning Palace marked by this instrument.
