Snow Grey Silver Ingot Tatsi Yarn, Xuantong (20th century) of the Qing Dynasty, with a width of 72 centimeters. Hangzhou Weaving
This yarn is made of snow gray ground, with weak twist of warp and double strands, and light gold weft. The pattern should have borrowed from the popular patterns of overseas clothing at that time, with a lively design that contrasted with light gold and silver gray, and only sand holes were twisted in local areas of the pattern
The machine head is woven with red silk threads: “Made by Zhejiang Hangzhou Qingcheng Silk Factory”, with a chime shape and the word “trademark” woven in the middle, and a small character “Supervised Production Top Number Pure Warp Qingcheng Yarn” woven below. There is also a red stamp on the back: “Xiangyi Selected Place”. Qingcheng Silk Factory was founded by modern Shaoxing industrialist Xu Ji in 1912.
