Mo Cai Lai Melon Pattern Cup, Tongzhi of the Qing Dynasty, with a height of 6cm, a caliber of 8.8cm, and a foot diameter of 4cm
The cup has an open mouth, a deep belly, and rounded feet. There is a red colored “Tongzhi Year” 4-character regular script inside the foot. The rim of the mouth is decorated with gold. The outer wall is painted with ink and color patterns of melons, butterflies, and bamboo. “Laigua pattern is a common decorative pattern on porcelain in the late Qing Dynasty. Its branches and vines are intertwined and continuous, and combined with butterfly patterns to symbolize continuous claws.”
