Yellow ground pastel flower pattern longevity character cover box, Qing Guangxu, with a height of 6.7cm, a diameter of 8.8cm, and a foot diameter of 5.1cm
The box is in the shape of Mantou, with the upper and lower mouths folded together and feet encircled. The inside of the box is painted with white glaze, and the outer wall is decorated with yellow ground pink flower patterns. The lotus, peony, plum blossom, magnolia, and other colors are depicted in black, carmine, grass green, and peacock green. The edges of the upper and lower openings and the outer walls of the circular feet are all painted with blue material, with yellow color depicting deformation patterns on top. On the top of the cover, a seal character “Shou” is written in alum red color, and the strokes of the “Shou” character are edged with gold color. On the white glaze floor of the outer sole, the seal character “Body and Palace System” is inscribed in alum red color in double lines
The style and decoration of this box with the word “Shou” indicate that it is a birthday congratulatory porcelain specially fired by the Jingdezhen Imperial Kiln Factory during the reign of Guangxu in the Qing Dynasty for the 50th birthday of Empress Dowager Cixi in the tenth year of Guangxu (1884)
