Bowl skimming, deep belly, round feet. Full body red glaze painted with gold. The inner and outer edges of the mouth and the abdomen near the feet are decorated with gold loops, the inner and outer walls and foot walls are decorated with gold colored “Happiness” characters, and the inner bottom center is decorated with gold circle longevity characters. “Yan Xi Tong He” four-character regular script with a red color of alum on the foot
The “Happiness” porcelain produced during the Tongzhi period was used by the Tongzhi Emperor for his grand wedding, mainly including sea bowls, large bowls, medium bowls, soup bowls, Huai bowls, yellow wine bowls, wine cups, spoons, large, medium, and small plates, and dishes. This batch of wedding porcelain was fired for the court in Jingdezhen by Jiangxi Governor Jingfu in the seventh year of Tongzhi’s reign (1868), totaling 120 barrels and 7294 pieces.
