The court coat has a round neck, a placket, sleeveless, and a train that opens from side to side. The back is hung with a bright yellow ribbon decorated with coral pearls and happy characters. This court coat is adorned with two to four colored halos on a stone blue silk ground. It combines the techniques of stringing rice beads and techniques such as needle setting, flat needle, seed beating, and flat gold to embroider patterns such as the colored cloud, white dragon, double happiness, bat, and sea water, river, and cliff. The coat is lined with a red four-fold Ruyi cloud with a dragon longevity pattern woven into a gold silk lining, with a thin layer of silk wool applied inside. The lapel is decorated with a stone cyan colored dragon miscellaneous treasure pattern woven gold satin, with gold hammering flowers inlaid with emerald and ruby gold plates. The center is connected by pearl and coral beads, and is decorated with copper, gold, carved flowers, and buckles
This is a queen dress. The court coat broke the traditional decorative technique of using thread binding embroidery to hook the edges in the Qing Dynasty, and used seed tapping embroidery to express the outline of the dragon’s body. Its layered and heavy texture enhanced the artistic expression of the pattern. This coat is the only existing jewelry embroidered clothing in the Forbidden City outside the Qianlong Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty. It was woven during the Daoguang Dynasty of the Qing Dynasty.
