Yixing Kiln “Amantuo Room” Purple Sand Painted with Gold Landscape Pattern Tea Pot, Jiaqing, Qing Dynasty, with a total height of 9.7 centimeters, a caliber of 6 centimeters, and a foot diameter of 9.7 centimeters< The pot has a round belly, circular feet, short flow, and a curved handle. One side of the pot belly is painted with gold and painted with a wood and stone pavilion, with the words "Two Peaks Inserting Clouds" written on it. The other side is painted with a gold seal script, "I love drinking tea during my lifetime.". The lid is painted with flowing cloud patterns in gold. The outer sole is stamped with a double line four character seal script "Amantuoshi"
The embryo of the kettle is delicate and purplish brown. The purple clay pot labeled “Amantuoshi” was produced by the famous pot makers Yang Pengnian and Yang Fengnian during the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty in cooperation with the calligrapher and painter Chen Mansheng (1768-1822). Generally, Chen Mansheng designed the pot pattern, and Peng Nian and Feng Nian formed the pot according to the pattern. Then, Man Sheng inscribed an inscription on the pot, known as the “Man Sheng pot”. Generally, the outer bottom of the pot bears marks such as “Amantuo Room” and “Sanglianli Hall”
The use of gold as decoration on purple clay pots dates back to the reign of the Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. The purple clay pots were used by the court to pursue a magnificent effect.
