[Genuine Nasa Embroidered Spring Ox Scroll]
Genuine Nasa Embroidered Spring Ox Scroll, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, 35cm vertically and 92cm horizontally
This scroll is embroidered with patterns such as distant mountains, flying dragons, small bridges, flowing water, cloisters, water pavilions, trees, figures, pottoes, flowers, and other patterns on the ground of plain square hole gauze. The work adopts a decorative method of one to two color halos, and is embroidered with oblique threads, flat needles, set needles, and plain gold. In terms of layout, it has absorbed the “scattered perspective” of traditional painting, and successfully used the panoramic composition of the “three farsightedness” of Chinese painting, organically combining the three aspects of plain, lofty and profound, with an ingenious layout and a degree of opening and closing. The characters in the painting are both independent and have some internal connection. For example, the eyes of the characters on the waterside pavilion in the close shot were attracted by the kite in the hands of the shepherd boy in the distance, and the forgetful expression of looking back and twisting the neck was vividly portrayed. In the work, the embroiderer also skillfully uses a color combination method made of multicolored silk threads to fully express the light and dark texture of the weathered slope and tree branches
The composition of this work is beautiful, and the embroidery is exquisite and vivid, reflecting the producer’s meticulous observation and capturing ability to nature and cultural landscapes.
