Songhua River Shiyunchi round inkstone, with a diameter of 12.1cm and a thickness of 1.4cm during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty
The inkstone is round and made of Songhua River stone. The stone is fine, green, and the texture is deep and shallow, which is natural. The surface of the inkstone is cleverly made into a semicircular pool with cloud patterns, like the rising sun in the clouds, with a unique craftsmanship. On the back of the inkstone is a seal script made in the Qianlong era. Inkstone carving is neat and concise, winning with stone quality
The decoration of this inkstone is exquisite. The round inkstone box with black lacquer and gold flowers is made in accordance with the shape of the inkstone. The lace decoration on the box cover is complex and magnificent, with quite a palace characteristic.
