Bamboo inlaid silk crown frame

[Bamboo inlaid silk crown frame]

The bamboo inlaid silk crown frame is made by the Qing Dynasty Palace Fabrication Office, with a height of 30.5cm and a bottom diameter of 13.7cm
The crown frame is made of wooden tires, with a drum shaped base, upright columns, and an umbrella shaped crown bearing on the top. In addition to the incense box at the top, the bottom of the seat, and the four cloud heads for yellow decoration, the entire body is inlaid with bamboo threads. The top edge, the body seat junction, and the seat edge are decorated with 4 layers of dual color echo lines, and the black bamboo silk used is dyed. The sunflower shaped opening light on the frame and base is obtained by removing bamboo filaments and inlaying them with bamboo yellow. The pattern inside the opening light is formed by pasting bamboo yellow, which is the same technique as the cloud bat pattern on the seat surface
The production of this crown frame pays great attention to details, such as the crown bearing carved into a petal style, with the embedded bamboo filaments winding continuously and showing a curved ribbon, which is highly ingenious; The incense box cover at the top is carved into a wheel shape, which is very delicate. The crown frame has a straight and graceful shape, using the vertical and horizontal changes of bamboo filaments to form different textures, coupled with different colors, to achieve a strong decorative effect. Its packaging, inlaying, pasting, dyeing and other techniques were applied skillfully and methodically, reflecting the high development of bamboo crafts at that time
