In the 39th year of Qianlong’s reign (Jiawu, 1774) and 47th year (Renyin, 1782), orders were issued for the firing of large filigree enamel pagodas, six at a time, respectively, to be displayed in the Fanhua Tower in the northeast of the Forbidden City and the Baoxiang Tower in the southwest. According to the records, the cost of the tower is 700000 liang, which is an unprecedented giant system and reflects the wealth of the country and the strength of the people. These 12 towers are of the same height and various shapes, magnificent and well preserved, and still stand in their original position. This is one of the 6 towers displayed in the Vatican Tower
