Pao made lacquered chrysanthemum petal plate with lotus pattern, with a height of 3.3 cm, a diameter of 23.4-16.1 cm, and a bottom diameter of 19.5-12.7 cm
The chrysanthemum shaped disc is oval in shape, with a continuous arc shape on the vessel wall, slightly shorter arc lengths at both ends, and uniform arc lengths for the rest. A convex string pattern runs through the body near the opening and bottom of the outer wall, and each curved surface is used as a unit to model a five petal flower with a yang character and several lotus lines. The rim is inlaid with tortoiseshell edges. The inner wall is painted with red paint on a substrate, with gold paint painted gourds and vines intertwined, and dotted with several bats. It bears the auspicious meaning of “gourds for thousands of generations” and “many children and many blessings”. This is a common pattern of this period, and it is more appropriate to use it on pao ware. The inner wall of the plate is pierced by a broken branch gourd vine. At the bottom, there are flat feet with a shaped ribbon, and the inside of the feet is painted with black paint. In the center, there are four characters in regular script “Made in the Qianlong Year” in a square heavy frame with gold paint
This dish is dignified and elegant in shape, with both fine painting and inlaying. It is a masterpiece of the combination of Fanpao and painting techniques.
